Assalamu alaikum wr. wb.

Some time ago, I got a plain short storytelling from my English’s tutor. Actually, this was a sort of narration with humdrum line, might be like bedtime story, really boring. Yah, initially I thought that way, but avidently it was a puzzles.

Are you curious?
Ok, be patient and listen to me.

In a country, there were two fathers and two sons. Those man always went together to do every work. One day, they decided to go fishing together at a lake near the country.
When they arrived, one of them said, “Let’s make a game! Everyone must get one fish for his dinner!”
The others allowed.
So, that afternoon they spent time to capture one fish for dinner. Finally when the sunset they could finish that.

After told that story, my tutor gave me a question. And I felt how easy when he asked, “So, if everyone got one fish for themselves, how many fishes that they captured?”

Oh My, I answered with a grin, “Of course four, right?”

“Hahaha,” he laughed. “Always that answer….but you’re wrong! Hahaha!”

“Hei, am I? What?” I raised eyebrows.

“Hm.. two fathers and two sons, right? The answer is three!” he smiled proudly. Before I asked again, he said, “Nah, two fathers and two sons, it’s meaning a grandfather, a father, and a son. A grand father is a father from father and the father is a father from the son. So, there was two fathers. Nah, a father is a son from the grandfather, and the son is a son from the father. Look, there was two sons, right? So, they got 3 fishes, right? Hahaha!”

“Oh My.. It’s really.. How can.. Hahaha!” I laughed as just realized.

And I failed to solve the puzzles, it was really trap haha.
So, be careful with this trap, your friends lurk you!
